Painted from the original at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

I made this for my daughter Valerie as a Christmas gift to her.
It's the only time I've deliberately changed the content of a painting I was copying. I added "A ma superbe fille, Amour, Papa" ("To my beautiful girl, Love, Dad") to the letter she's holding.

Another interesting thing about this piece is that I was finishing it on the day of the blackout in New York City. I thought it was a terrorist attack, so I almost threw away the painting and my gear once I was outside the museum so I could get home quicker!
